Welcome to Little Souls Rescue & Sanctuary, a small, independent, volunteer-run animal rescue and sanctuary supporting Stray Cats and kittens, rabbits, and guinea pigs across Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, and surrounding areas in the UK.
We specialise in stray cat and kitten rescue, foster-based care, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programmes, and providing safe, lifelong sanctuary for rescued guinea pigs, rabbits, and other animals in need.
We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats and kittens, while also providing a safe sanctuary for guinea pigs and rabbits. Alongside this, we support stray, unwanted, and free-roaming cats and kittens, helping them find safety, care, and a second chance at life.
We do not operate a traditional on-site cattery. Instead, our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes by experienced volunteer foster carers, allowing them to experience a calm, stable home environment while they wait for their forever families.
What began as a small rescue helping animals in desperate need has grown into a dedicated team of volunteers and foster carers. We remain a hands-on animal rescue organisation, always putting animals first.

At Little Souls Rescue & Sanctuary, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, or left behind, while providing lifelong sanctuary to those who cannot be rehomed.
We are committed to giving every animal the care, compassion, and support they need, helping them recover and find loving homes wherever possible, while providing permanent sanctuary for those requiring ongoing care.
Alongside our cat rescue and rehoming work, we operate dedicated rabbit and guinea pig sanctuaries, offering safe haven for rescued small animals in need.
We also support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programmes where it is safe and in the best interests of free-roaming cats, helping to improve welfare, prevent unwanted litters, and reduce suffering in the wider cat population.

At Little Souls Rescue & Sanctuary, we are deeply passionate about supporting stray, free-roaming, and unwanted cats and kittens across Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, and surrounding areas.
Sadly, many people still see stray or feral cats as a nuisance, but at Little Souls we see lost souls who deserve compassion, understanding, and a second chance.
We are dedicated to stray cat rescue, providing care, rehabilitation, and rehoming for abandoned, stray, and unwanted cats and kittens. We also offer ongoing support for cats who may otherwise be overlooked, forgotten, or left without help.
We support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programmes where it is safe and in the best interests of the cats, helping to improve welfare, prevent unwanted litters, and reduce suffering within free-roaming cat populations.
Some cat colonies have lived together for years, forming strong bonds. We work to support and stabilise these colonies, helping them live healthier, safer lives in the surroundings they know and trust.
When a cat's safety, welfare, or health is at risk, we step in to provide rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and, where appropriate, relocation into safe and loving homes. Every cat that comes into our care receives the veterinary attention and support they need.
🐾 Why Colony Welfare Matters
TNR is most effective when an entire colony is neutered. Careful planning, ongoing monitoring, and early intervention are essential to prevent further litters and improve long-term welfare.
This vital work is costly, and every donation, no matter how small, helps us continue supporting free-roaming cats and kittens, improving their welfare and giving them the safer, healthier lives they deserve.

At Little Souls we are more than just a rescue. More than just a sanctuary.

Where many rescues focus solely on rehoming, and many sanctuaries only provide long-term care, we do both — with no pressure, no deadlines, and no ticking clock.

At Little Souls Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, our work extends beyond caring for the rescued animals in our sanctuary. We step out into the community to help animals in need — from frightened stray cats and kittens to abandoned rabbits and guinea pigs.
We actively support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programmes where it is safe and in the best interests of the cats, helping to manage and stabilise free-roaming cat populations and prevent further unwanted litters.
We also act early to help small cat colonies before they grow out of control, ensuring every animal receives the care, love, and attention they deserve.
Whether it’s rescuing, trapping, fostering, or arranging home visits and drop-offs, we do everything possible to give every little soul a second chance.

Foster carers must be willing to welcome a rescue cat or kitten into their home, allowing full access to the household and treating them as part of the family while they await adoption.
Applicants must:
Have no other pets in the home
Be willing to work with our veterinary practice
Complete an application, assessment, and vet reference
Allow home visits and ongoing checks
We provide all food, litter, veterinary care, transport, and cover all rescue-related costs, while managing the full adoption process. Full training and ongoing support are provided.

🌿 Every Little Soul Has a Story
Many of the guinea pigs, rabbits, stray cats, and kittens who find their way to Little Souls Animal Rescue & Sanctuary have faced neglect, trauma, or abandonment. Some come from truly heart-breaking situations — but here, their past no longer defines them.
Some of our little souls have never known kindness or the warmth of a gentle hand. Many arrive frightened and unsure, yet here they are met with patience, comfort, and time — until they learn that love can be trusted.
Witnessing their transformation from fear to peace is one of the most beautiful parts of our work.

Where Guinea Pigs & Rabbits Find Love, Care, and Safety
We offer Spacious, Enriched Living
Guinea Pigs:
Our female guinea pigs live in a huge 20ft x 30ft enclosure filled with tunnels, hides, and plenty of space to run, explore, and play all year round.
Our males enjoy their own safe, roomy enclosures, designed to reduce stress and ensure harmony.
Rabbits:
Our rescued rabbits enjoy a specially built warren, where they can dig, stretch, and snooze just as bunnies should.
